It’s that time of year again when HUMMER releases their limited edition vehicles. This time we can expect some truly great vehicles. The first one is the H2 Silver Ice Limited Edition – which is very similar to the H2 Victory Red Limited Edition that was released last year. HUMMER has taken chrome to a new level and has ‘iced’ this car all over.
BMW has chosen 2008 as the year of showing off their ‘green’ side at the 2008 Geneva Auto Show. One of their most expectant concepts that they will be showing off is the X5 Vision EfficientDynamics Concept. This new concept has been built with a 2.0 liter four cylinder, twin turbo diesel that can be mated to a hybrid motor.
Mercedes-Benz new GLK compact SUV – which was previewed at the Detroit Auto Show in January – surprised people with its unusual design. Most people have described it as a “shrunken down full-size GL”. Yet, it seems that Mercedes has made some improvements upon the vehicle that might just make up for this lack of design.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has once again performed the necessary tests on nine new CUV’s and SUV’s. We all know the drill. They perform a series of tests on the front, side, and rear impact testing of the car. Each one will try to prove its worth – but only one will be granted the title of Top Safety Pick award.
GM spent its time and energy focusing on the 2009 Chevy Traverse at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show and because of that we almost didn’t notice the Hummer H3T sitting in a corner off to the side waiting for attention to come along. Although how anyone could ignore and not see such a large vehicle as the Hummer is beyond us.
