Formula One is changing the face of racing by implementing hybrid vehicles into the race. The FIA stated this week that starting next year racers must drive hybrid cars in order to comply with the Kinetic Energy Recovery System. Formula One stated that it will take until 2013 before all of the changes from the new system to take effect – but it will start with the 2009 season.

The latest rumor to reach our ears is something completely off the wall and one that has put us all in a bit of a shock. Ron Dennis is well known for directing the McLaren F1 team to many victories that include; nine drivers’ championships and seven constructors’ titles. He has been with the team since the ‘80’s and if the rumors are true he has just been fired.

The rumor went on to say that Mercedes-Benz – the engine partner and shareholder of the team – has been upset for some time with the way that Dennis handled the recent spy scandal and his inability to get them the championship. Dennis has already had to deal with him and his wife of 22 years separating.

The FIA is putting a stop to racism with their new campaign which they have called “Racing Against Racism”. They decided to put together this campaign after a racist incident that was geared toward Lewis Hamilton occurred in Spain during the F1 test session.

We were excited when we heard that Ferrari was creating its very own theme park in Abu Dhabi. What better way to spend your day than to stare avidly at the many Ferrari cars that have been created; and to take a wild rides that are being created just to thrill us. This new idea has given inspiration to others.

Those of you who were disappointed to hear that the Dakar Rally had been cancelled due to terrorist threats will be excited to know that it is back on again! Osca Santelices is the head man over at Chilean Tourism and has suggested that the race be held in his country.
