Many folks, including us, would love to drive the luxury or exotic car of their dreams. For some, this could be an exotic sportscar and for others it could simply be a really nice SUV. The barrier to entry for most of us is the high cost associated with purchasing new. While recent economic conditions have hit the auto industry especially hard and made it the best buyers market for new cars we can remember, one of the areas that has not been as affected is the new car market for luxury SUVs and exotic sports cars. It seems that the high-end market is still, well, pretty high end. That means that - for most of us - driving the car or SUV of our dreams may still be out of reach.

The sales for the Dodge Viper are down - but that doesn’t stop buyers from putting in their bids to purchase the whole operation. Jim Press - Chrysler President - stated that the line is long - which leaves us no doubt that they can get a substantial amount from the sports car.

In order to help boost sales during this economic recession General Motors did the unthinkable. They offered customers the chance to purchase a new car for the employee pricing - a deal that started on August 20th. It is obvious that many are taking advantage of this deal and getting a car that will suit their needs.

On the collector car market, the mid to late 1970’s model Pontiac Trans Am is becoming more popular, than the more muscular 1969 to 1974 Trans AMs. The later Trans AMs have a manliness to them. Many can association this with the 1970’s famous personality Burt Reynolds along with the Smokey and the Bandit Movie series. A 1978 Special Edition Y/82 Trans Am that comes with the desirable Pontiac 400 engine with 4-speed manual tranny. Also with original Hurst Hatches and AM/FM/8-track player and CB radio along with the rare rear-console add to this cars rarity.

Toyota has announced the new mid-model year price increases for their trucks and cars. Many of us were expecting something like this – but were hoping that it wouldn’t affect the Lexus brand – but it seems that luck was not on our side for this decision. We have listed all of the increases below. If you look closely you will see that the Camry is the only 2009 model that has been given an increase. The gas model was increased to $18,920 ($200 increase) and the hybrid model was increased to $25,650 ($300 increase).
