Tata Nano Diesel On Its Way
The Tata Nano will be released to the market equipped with a standard 624cc gas engine that produces 30 horsepower and works with a 4-speed manual transmission. As we stare at those shockingly low numbers many of us are wondering what they are thinking. However, this car is perfect for those who only have to fork over $2,500 for a brand new car.
This car may be small and may produce only a small amount of power - but it is affordable and has 54 miles to the gallon - which is amazing. Chairman Ratan Tata promised that they would produce a diesel version of the Nano and he will not dissapoint.
He will be displacing 800 cubic centimeters and will produce it with a turbocharger, twin cylinder diesel engines, and common rail fuel injection. The twin cylinder engine has been produced by FEV, Honeywell, and Bosch.
