BMW Revamps Hydrogen 7 And Removes Gas From The Picture

Hydrogen 7

When BMW first debuted the Hydrogen 7 back in 2006 we were all in awe that it was diversified enough to run on both gasoline and hydrogen. Naturally we were excited about this and knew that it was a wise move on BMW’s part. After all the V12 engine has a 30 gallon tank and the -253° Centigrade liquid hydrogen will hold up for 125 miles. The other tank was designed to hole 19.5 gallons of gasoline – which can last up to 310 miles.

It seems though that BMW is changing a few things around with the newer version of the Hydrogen 7. In short it will mean the end of the gasoline tank. BMW has stated that the new version will have excellent performance and range and they will both be increased. They are planning on debuting the new version during the 2008 National Hydrogen Association Conference and also at the 2008 SAE World Congress.
