Volkswagon Beetle Turned Into Police Cruiser
We have seen some very cool cop cars in our time that we love the talk about it and show off. In fact we wouldn’t mind being pulled over by them if we could get a better look at them. Most of these cars have been Dodge Chargers and even a few Corvettes. That is why we were surprised to see this cop car – a VW Beetle.
Archie Garner – a 40 year old vet in Blount County, Tennessee grabbed the 1972 Beetle during the DUI case and turned it into an Interceptor. It definitely isn’t the best car on the force. The fact that it can only go as high as 70 mph with its 1600cc stock air-cooled engine will make it hard for Garner to chase those speed demons off the road if they try to outrun him. Though we think that in Tennessee there aren’t too many of them.
Ironically the Beetle is adorned with the number 53 – which is the same number that can be found on the adorable bug from all of the Herbie movies. It does spend most of its time in parades, and on public relation missions.
