Hybrid SUV’s are becoming quite popular in the market overseas – but when it comes to the United States they are finding it difficult to work their way into the hearts of consumers. Because of this automakers are seriously considering whether or not offering a gasoline-electric hybrid SUV will be worth the money and the risk.

Audi is one of the few to make a quick decision. They have studied the U.S. market and watched as the SUV market has struggled. That is why they have made the decision to keep the Q7 hybrid SUV off the U.S. market.

“It was a very hard car to make the numbers work,” stated Johan de Nysschen - Audi’s brand head over in the U.S. “We will not do the hybrid Q7 as a conventional product offering,” de Nysschen continued. He went on to say that there will only be a few of the hybrid Q7s that will be working their way into the hands of “commercial” entities.
