Afghanistan Citizens Show Interest In ‘Canadian’ Used Cars

Canadians may not be too crazy about the cars that come out of their homeland at the moment due to the inequitable prices – but the people in Afghanistan are more than happy to take up their slack and their cars. Reports have stated that after the Taliban fell the first cars to arrive were those from Canada.
Those from Afghan – particularly Kabul – believe that all VW’s, Fords, and Toyotas are Canadian. Those seen driving a ‘Canadian’ car like the Ford Taurus are considered to be important. While Canada might not be exporting some of their newer and higher priced cars they are sending over the used ones that have been in accidents or have been waiting patiently at the dealer to be sold.
Canada ships many of these reject vehicles off themselves. However, there are around 30,000 that are stolen and shipped overseas by the theives to citizens of Afghanistan who are looking for more status.
