2008 Chicago Auto Show – 2009 Chevy Traverse

2009 Chevy Traverse

The 2008 Chicago Auto Show was exciting and full of many cars that we didn’t expect to see and many that we have been waiting to get a closer look at. Over the next week we will be giving you a glimpse into the show and the top vehicles that are being displayed.

We’re going to start off with the 2009 Chevrolet Traverse that was sitting at the GM booth. Chevy gave us a brief but well scripted presentation on how this vehicle has been made for larger families.

Chevy designed the new CUV according to the look of the midsize Malibu and we agree that it has some potential. It has a nice rounded look with none of the sharp edges to make it look harsh. Instead it has the perfect look and feel of a true family vehicle. If you look at the headlights in the picture you may not think this – but don’t let them fool you. The headlights might make the car look harsh in the picture – but gives it a much more pleasant look when viewed up close.

Powering the vehicle is the V6 3.6 liter engine with an automatic transmission and a choice between all wheel drive and front wheel drive. You wouldn’t really be able to tell from the outside – but the vehicle can hold up to 8 passengers. We’ve provided a video (courtesy of Autoblog) to give you a better look at the different features that the vehicle offers.
