Can We Expect A Hybrid Camaro?
GM’s new Camaro has received a lot of hype and has been spotted in some of the largest auto shows as well as the movie “Transformers” – but it has yet to be released to the public. Yet, that doesn’t seem to stop GM from making plans on how best they can improve it.
GM is putting together a team that can equip the new Camaro with their dual-mode hybrid drive train. Most automakers are going hybrid and GM is looking to add the Camaro to the mix in hopes that it will help out the rising fuel economy. The only problem with this is that it will diminish the power and reputation of muscle cars everywhere.
Some believe the GM is switching to hybrid because of the RWD platforms that they were modeled after. This is going to drive the original cost of the Camaro up. Those of us who were dreading the original cost aren’t too pleased that they are making it even costlier for us to get our hands on it.
