We are always excited to see a brand new car pop up out of the wood work with very little warning. Especially if that car happens to be a brand new supercar and can make your jaw drop in less than two seconds. That is exactly the effect that this MCE MC1 has done to us.
Ford’s Super Duty trucks are popular among consumers who use it for work or just because they love to ride around in a vehicle that towers over everyone else on the road. Unfortunately the trucks are also becoming quite popular to smugglers and traffickers who ‘work hard’ at bringing drugs and trafficking people in and out of the country.
We were surprised to see that the Detroit Auto Show was scarce of Volvo’s presence. In fact they were one of the few who didn’t even set up a press conference. They did have a booth set up – but there was very little to be seen. They have chosen the Geneva Auto Show to show off their new 2009 XC60.
We heard through the grapevine that Mercedes is planning on buying out McLaren – which makes for an interesting move on their part. When Mercedes was asked to elaborate on this we got the answer we expected – nothing. They said no comment to every question that had to deal with this subject – which makes us wonder if it is true and they are trying to keep things hush-hush.
Toyota chose to show off their new FJ Cruiser prototype at the NAIAS press preview though not in the usual way. There was no hype, no fan fare, and no publicity waiting to take snapshots of the new car. In fact the new ‘Trail Teams’ vehicle was out of eye shot and away from the other popular vehicles in the room. Now it’s our job to make sure that you get to hear about it.
