Smugglers Targeting Ford Super Duty Trucks

Ford Super Duty Truck

Ford’s Super Duty trucks are popular among consumers who use it for work or just because they love to ride around in a vehicle that towers over everyone else on the road. Unfortunately the trucks are also becoming quite popular to smugglers and traffickers who ‘work hard’ at bringing drugs and trafficking people in and out of the country.

It seems that these smugglers are finding it easier to smuggle things in and out of the country in a truck that can fit large amounts of contraband. In 2007 Ford recorded an amount of 1,245 F-250’s and F-350’s stolen from parking lots and homes. Ford is trying to put a stop to this and quickly before it becomes worse and gets more out of hand. Already they are working hard to increase security. Already they are working at creating keys that have been embedded with chips that will be used to start the newer 2008 trucks. Ford has already lost people (who have switched to Chevy) whose car was stolen and they are hoping this might bring a few of them back.
