Chile Offers Desert As Racing Grounds For Dakar Rally
Those of you who were disappointed to hear that the Dakar Rally had been cancelled due to terrorist threats will be excited to know that it is back on again! Osca Santelices is the head man over at Chilean Tourism and has suggested that the race be held in his country.
It looks like they aren’t the only country that is offering. Australia, China, and Russia have also opened up their countries. It might have been nice of Santelices to offer up his country as racing grounds – but he has stated that he will go no farther. Which means he is looking forward to all of the fame that the country (and him) will be getting – but there will be no financial support from them.
I suppose offering us their country should be good enough for us. This is an on again off again situation so don’t be too surprised or disappointed if it is called off again.
