German Police Take Away Gaddafi’s $340,000 Ferrari

When you have a Ferrari you can’t help but tune it up to make it exactly what you want it to be. That doesn’t mean that the Ferrari doesn’t already start off as one of the best sports cars to be made – but they were made to be perfected and shown off.

That’s exactly what Muammar Gaddafi, son of the Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, did to his $340,000 Ferrari 430 and while he (and us Ferrari enthusiasts) might have loved the buffed up exhaust that he gave it – the police in Germany were not too happy about it.

Police in Germany seized Gaddafi’s Ferrari after recording the exhaust system at 110.5 decibels instead of the 98 decibels that is allowed. Police said that Seif al-Arab had been stopped and warned before and, while in the midst of taking his car, they also noticed that his license was invalid. They told him that when he needs to renew his license, pay a $200 fine, and promise to re-tune his exhaust before they will hand over his Ferrari.
