Taking yet another stab at both the truck and hybrid market, Toyota is set to introduce a new gas-electric hybrid compact truck at the 2008 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

For those not familiar with the Honda Inspire, it’s a Japanese version of the Accord built for that other market. As most imports go, the car has already been heavily modded by Mugen. This time, however, it’s Honda’s turn at their own ride - and Modulo has the honors.

Never short on lofty goals and big promises, Toyota has bitten off a big one today as it announced their plans to sell a million (that’s a 1 with 7 zero’s) hybrid vehicles by the early 2010’s. With gas peaking above $3 per gallon here in the States, why not?

Back in 2004 Maserati began production of the Pininfarina-designed Quattroporte V with a high revving, Ferrari-sourced V8 engine and choice of either a super smooth ZF-sourced six speed automatic or the highly touted Duo Select transmission. A truley high performance luxery sedan for serious enthusiasts.

Bridgestone Motorsport announced last week a three-year deal with the Federation Internationale de L’Automobile (FIA) to be the exclusive tire (or tyre, depending on where you’re from) supplier for the Formula One World Championship. While the news was released in show-stopping fashion, it was really more of a formality.
